EXODUS 21-23 - INSIGHTS ON THE LAW OF GOD
EXODUS 21-23
God’s Law is generally seen as consisting of (3) types of laws - the moral law, the ceremonial law, and the civil law. The moral law reflects what is right and just. The ceremonial law governed how God was to be approached and worshipped in the Old Testament, and the civil law contained both the civil and criminal laws for the Old Testament nation of Israel. While we as Christians are generally not under the ceremonial law or the civil law today, all three of these aspects of God’s law reflect something about His character and nature. The moral law also continues to give us God’s unchanging principles of right and wrong, and continues to show us our need for Jesus as our Lord and Savior. All the requirements of the law were perfectly fulfilled in Christ, such that despite our failures, God also sees those who have trusted in Him as their Lord and Savior to have fulfilled them as well. Join us for a discussion from a high level view of the wonders of God’s law for us as Christians today.
