LOS ANGELES WILDFIRES 2025
Response & Resources
Join us in prayer for those affected by the Los Angeles Wildfires and for the mobilization of the Gospel.
Here are some ways we hope to provide assistance to those affected by this disaster.
-
Prayer
We stand together in prayer for our neighbors being impacted by the fires. With the amount of loss and devastation, we pray for peace and provision to come down from above. We lift up all the first responders who have answered the call of service. We look to the Lord, because he is where our help comes from!
-
Donations
At this time, we are directing people who wish to give monetarily to relief efforts to visit Samaritan's Purse. Samaritan's Purse is poised to respond to help homeowners in Jesus' Name once local emergency management says it is safe to do so.
-
Housing
As many have been displaced and left without practical shelter, there are congregants who are able to open space for victims in need of housing. If you are looking for temporary housing or would like to offer your home, submit a message below.
Calvary Chapel Palos Verdes wants to continue learning the needs of our neighbors in Los Angeles. We are actively seeking relationships with local churches and believers in the communities that have been impacted by fires. We desire to bring lasting relief, and we know our efforts will be a long game. So let’s be praying and let’s continue preparing for how we can best minister in this time. Connect with our pastors.
Rebuilding begins.
Many families and individuals are at a loss with the destruction of entire homes and belongings completely ruined. When disaster like these fires take place, it nudges humanity to consider our priorities here on Earth and for eternity.
We may struggle to understand how death and destruction fit into God’s ultimate plan for mankind, but we know that God is sovereign. After all, the Bible teaches that Jesus Christ holds all of nature together, there is nothing beyond his control (Colossians 1:16).
While many relief organizations can meet practical needs, we as Christians have the opportunity to not only help physically but also spiritually at this time. We pray for many in Los Angeles to come to saving faith in Christ! God is faithful to bring about ultimate good that will serve His purposes, no matter how devastating the tragedy. (Romans 8:28)
So we lament with the thousands who are suffering from this natural disaster and we are prepared to share the hope that lies within us, which no one can take away. (1 Peter 3:15)
If one person suffers, we all suffer together and we desire to care for each other, actively meeting the needs of Christ’s body. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
