1 Peter 2:1-3 - Growing in Relationship
We are to love sincerely, earnestly, and from a pure heart. Peter lists several relational sins that will threaten that love. We are to put away sin and crave the Word of God if we want to grow in relationship with God and with others.
1 Peter 1:22-25 - Born Again Love
In light of our salvation in Jesus Christ we are able to love one another in a sincere, earnest, and pure hearted way because we have been born again.
1 Peter 1:13-21 - Grace for Holiness
God gives grace for the past, present, and future. In grace God called us, and we are to live holy lives, because God is holy.
1 Peter 1:10-13 - Concerning Salvation
As Christians we are to set our minds on things concerning salvation. The prophets, the apostles, and the angels long to look into the salvation given to us in Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:4-9 - Tested Faith
Elect exiles can rejoice in trials because we know that our faith is being tested. God will see the genuineness of our faith as we hope in the one we cannot see, but love.
1 Peter 1:1-5 - Elect Exiles
The Apostle Peter writes to the Elect Exiles - God's chosen people who live in the tension of being citizens of both heaven and earth.
3 John - Examples to Follow
John writes to his beloved friend Gauis to commend him for his hospitality and generosity toward the saints. In 3 John we find two good examples, and one bad example of people to follow.
2 John - Just Love
Knowing the truth about Jesus increases our love for him, and our love for him increases our obedience. The commandments of God are rooted in either love for him or love for others.
1 John 5:13-21 - That You May Know
John ends his letter by reminding us of the confidence we can have in Jesus. In him, we know that we have eternal life and that we have access to God through prayer.
Christmas Eve - 1 John 5:6-12 - The Testimony of Jesus
Jesus is the Son of God who was born to save the world. There is abundant testimony concerning Jesus. He can be believed and trusted in.
1 John 5:1-8 - The Source of Love
Loving God and loving people are the greatest commandments, and when we draw from God as the source of love, his commandments are not burdensome.

1 John 4:1-12 - The Test of Truth and Love
John tells the little children not to believe every spirit, but to test spirits to see whether they are from God. Jesus is the test. By knowing who Jesus is, and what he has done, we can know God.
1 John 3:16-24 - A Life of Faith, Hope, and Love
The life of God is found in the living. This living is done and built upon faith, hope, and love. It is a contrast to the death that is seen in the life of those who are of the devil.
1 John 3:4-15 - Who is Your Father?
In a very direct way, John says that a person who practices righteousness is a child of God, and a person who practices sin is a child of the devil. Jesus appeared to take away sin and destroy the works of the devil. We can be children of God through Jesus, the Son of God.
1 John 2:28-3:3 - A Purifying Hope
The hope of Jesus coming again is a hope that purifies the believer. We are called to abide in Jesus so that when he appears we will have confidence and not shrink back from him in shame. The children of God will live righteously because we have the Father's love bestowed upon us.
1 John 2:18-27 - Christian or Antichrist
John writes to the church to warn against deception in the last hour. To avoid deceptions Christians must have a revelation from the Holy Spirit of the person and the work of Jesus Christ.
1 John 2:12-17 - Walking in the Light
God gives us things to help us walk in the light - each other, forgiveness, our relationship with God through Christ, being overcomers of the evil one, the power of the Spirit, and the Word. While we face challenges with living in this sinful world, we are still called to love people by serving others as ambassadors for Christ.
