Nehemiah 6-7 - Scheming Opposition
The spiritual battle is never ending in this life. After both external and internal opposition, Nehemiah is faced with a more subtle kind of attack - the scheming opposition of enemies.
Nehemiah 5 - Internal Opposition
The work on the wall had to stop because a great outcry arose among the people of God. Nehemiah corrected the leaders who were oppressing families and thankfully they responded with repentance.

Upon hearing about the condition of Jerusalem and the people of God, Nehemiah was struck with deep sadness and he was moved to prayer. Nehemiah's prayer sets a foundation for the rebuilding of the wall and the renewal of the people of God.

Peter finishes his letter by reminding believers of the soon coming of Jesus. Jesus will bring the Day of the Lord, and with the promise of his coming there will be a New Heavens and a New Earth. Since this is true, we ought to live out our lives in holiness and godliness.

Peter reminds the beloved children of God to be ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ. He reminds us that in the last days there will be scoffers that willfully forget what God has promised to those who believe.

False teachers will seek to undermine the sufficiency of Christ or the sufficiency of Scripture, by trying to get us to buy into either legalism or licentiousness. We can protect ourselves from them by walking in grace & looking to the cross.

Near the end of his life, Peter reminds the church of the gospel. Peter was an eyewitness of the majesty of Jesus, and we can know him through the Holy Spirit inspired Word of God.
